I grabbed Resonance on a Friday because the demo looked clean and the feature list didn’t scream bloat. Setup was smoother than expected. I imported a portfolio demo, swapped a few images, and had a live site before my coffee went cold. The block editor works fine out of the box, and the customizer gives you just enough knobs without feeling like a cockpit.
WooCommerce setup was surprisingly smooth. Product grids looked tidy, filters worked without extra plugins, and checkout felt fast. I wasn’t chasing CSS fixes or JavaScript conflicts, which is more than I can say for some themes. Design wise, it’s modern without trying too hard. White space is used well, typography is readable, and the demo blocks are practical rather than flashy.
Performance is pretty solid. The theme doesn’t add a ton of scripts, and images are easy to optimize. I hit a couple of snags where the documentation was thin customizing the mega menu took some trial and error but the support thread cleared it up. If you’re building a business site, portfolio, or small shop, this is a no brainer. If you need heavy custom work, be ready to dig into code or ask for help.
| Category | What I liked | Where it wobbles |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | One-click import, quick tweaks, clean defaults | Some demo content is image-heavy; plan your media |
| WooCommerce | Fast product grids, clean checkout, solid filters | Advanced layouts need more theme options |
| Design | Modern, readable, not overstyled | Limited color scheme presets out of the box |
| Performance | Light scripts, good Core Web Vitals | You still need caching/CDN for best results |
| Support | Helpful replies, active threads | Documentation is thin on niche tweaks |
| Best for | Business, portfolio, small shop, agency sites | Complex, heavily custom e-commerce may need dev time |
